Switch from rankings to being named in the answer
People ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews who to hire. We help make sure your business is one of the names that comes back — and we show you the answers, the sources and what changed.
AEO is the practice. GEO is another name for it.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) means making your business easy for AI tools to find, understand and mention when they answer a question. You'll also hear GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). Those are different names for the same work — not competing methods.
What changed is the interface. Instead of ten blue links, the assistant returns a short answer with a handful of names. If yours isn't one of them, that buyer never sees you. We help you make the switch from optimizing only for rankings to also optimizing for being named.
One study of ChatGPT local recommendations found that only about half the businesses named on one ask were named again a few days later. You can't judge standing from a single screenshot. You have to check repeatedly — which is what an AEO audit does.

We ask the questions your customers ask
Every audit starts with a table like this. The example is illustrative; yours uses your real questions and real answers.
| Customer question | Engine | Named? | What it cited |
|---|---|---|---|
| "Best HVAC company in Colorado Springs" | ChatGPT | No | Two directories, one local listicle |
| "Who installs heat pumps near Briargate?" | Perplexity | Yes, #2 | Your service page, a review site |
| "Is [your company] licensed in Colorado?" | Gemini | Unclear | Old directory with the wrong phone |
| "Emergency AC repair open Sunday 80920" | Google AI Overviews | No | Google Business Profiles of three competitors |
The "what it cited" column becomes your to-do list — those are the pages answer engines trust for your topic.
What we do
AEO visibility audit
We run your real customer questions through the major answer engines several times, then record who gets named and which sources get cited.
Technical fixes
Crawler access, structured data, consistent business details, page structure and a clean llms.txt — the basics that let engines read you.
Answer-first content
Service pages and FAQs that answer the question in the first two sentences, with the specifics engines like to quote.
Monthly tracking
We re-run the same questions on a schedule and report how often you appear — not one lucky screenshot.
Four steps, in plain order
Baseline
We agree on the questions that matter and measure where you stand today across every engine.
Fix
We correct the technical and listing problems that stop engines from reading or trusting you.
Publish
We write or rework the pages and answers that engines can quote, and help you earn mentions elsewhere.
Measure
We re-run the same questions and show what moved, what didn't, and what we'll try next.
Nobody can guarantee you a spot in an AI answer
Answer engines don't take payment for placement, and their answers change from one ask to the next. If anyone promises otherwise, ask them how they'd prove it.
- "#1 in ChatGPT." There's no fixed #1. Answers vary by person, place and time.
- Results in a week. Engines re-read the web on their own schedule.
- Fake reviews, paid listicles or spammy link schemes. They put your name at risk.
- Reports full of jargon. You'll get the questions, the answers and what we changed.

What is AEO?
AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization. It is the work of making your business easy for AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Google AI Overviews to find, understand and mention when they answer a question. You measure it by how often you're named or cited in answers — not by a position on a classic results page.
What is the difference between AEO and GEO?
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) are different names for the same practice. Both describe the work of getting named, cited and recommended inside AI-generated answers. People argue about the labels; the day-to-day work — clear pages, consistent listings, earned mentions and repeated measurement — is the same.
Is AEO different from SEO?
Partly. Answer engines still pull from the web, so crawlable pages, clear content and a trustworthy reputation matter for both. Google says there are no extra technical requirements to appear in AI Overviews beyond normal Search eligibility. What changes is how you write (answer first, specific facts), where else you need to be mentioned, and how you measure results.
How long until I see results?
Technical and listing fixes can show up within weeks, once engines re-crawl the pages. Content and outside mentions usually take a few months. We track it monthly so you can see the trend rather than guessing.
Do you work with local businesses?
Yes, and they're a good fit. Answer engines try to give location-specific answers, so a well-documented local business can be named next to much bigger brands for questions about its own area. We're based in Colorado Springs and work remotely across the US.
Where are you based?
We're in the Colorado Springs area and work with businesses anywhere in the US, remotely. Call (719) 937-3354 or use the contact form.
